Building the committed distribution Building the committed distribution Extensions are git-native: TypeScript sources live under src/ and the built, readable distribution is committed under a distribution folder that is published with the release. The manifest may declare that folder with the optional dist string field (default dist ), matching the ^[A-Za-z0-9 -]+(/[A-Za-z0-9 -]+) $ shape and at most 64 characters in project-extension-manifest.schema.json .
